Summer Solstice, I have a love-hate relationship with this kind of weather, I’m so not a summer person. I would rather hibernate inside a room full of books and with a good working AC. Even without anyone to talk to, I’ll survive until the ber month when it’s time to come out again. But no, I have to earn money, for sustaining my ego and of course for my daughter’s sake.

Anyway, since I have no other choice but to go out and melt under the bright sun, my last resort to at least feel comfortable is to wear a skirt and shirt. For a week now that’s what I’ve been sporting.

So being the creative person that I am, I built this whole ensemble on the thought of wearing something that is not heat absorbent. Nothing more nothing less, I just got lucky over finding this skirt at a thrift store and it has scallop hems. score! Mint and dainty cut is instant pa-sweet points.

Sorry to disappoint some people’s expectations but there are days that you’d just put on an outfit without really giving it much thought and much explanation as to why I wore what I wore. Style would just come naturally and is mostly a spur of the moment thing. Nuff ‘bout that. So I’ve survived the scorching sun for a week now, I do hope I can stay strong until the holidays.

I know y’all have heard this before but it is true, and yes I just said y’all.

Anyone could and would attest that the Little Black Dress will save the day when all else fails, fashion-wise. It’s chic, very flexible, slimming for those “I feel bloated days” and a great last minute option to a sudden party Invite. But of course an LBD, like any other super heroes, aren’t always so reliable. For example, if you’re asked to go to an all white party then you decided to wear an LBD but whoopsidoo No blacks allowed (we are not being a racist here), so I suggest you stick to the theme. Or that one time when you decided to go to prom and just wear an LBD. ummm.. there’s a black gown for that my dear. You’ve got the wrong length.

Anyway back to what I’ve been trying to point out that’s already so obvious. An LBD would be your best bet incase you don’t have anything to wear amongst the mountains of collar blouses and mini A-line skirts, or if you’d rather save that one baggy pants that you haven’t worn since Philippine Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2012 for another occasion. But just because it’s a staple doesn’t mean you have to lack the effort to actually make an effort. I believe, while channeling the miss universe in me, that an LBD would only look classy if worn with confidence then if not, then COCO Chanel’s will haunt you for not giving justice to her creation. I kid of course, you can fake confidence because it all comes down to styling.

MEGA Publishing group’s 20th year celebration

I know It’s 10 days too late and in Fashion years that’s roughly a month too late. But oh well, I’m posting it anyway :D

Because of special privileges in taking classes at SoFA and having your Fashion Journalism teacher the Managing Editor of MEGA Magazine (Hi miss Lacar), me and other chosen students were asked to intern during the MEGA event. It was sweet and short but sure was fun :D

Brunch at Big Better Burgers around Jupiter, Makati. It was nice and so-so.

Self reflection at Serenitea. Whenever I’m with her we always end up talking about life and relationships and anything along that line. It’s reassuring in a way that I get less and less confused about stuff that makes me… umm… confuse.

After we have filled out tummies (and thoughts) we went straight to Salcedo Park for the Art in the Park event.

At the Resurrection of furnitures and found object’s gallery/booth (YES. long name) I bought the Wonder woman tanzan ring. I had a hard time picking what I want because most of the ring’s portrait speaks to me. #Imfickle

After taking a quick rest I saw a series of Cai look-alike paintings.

Didn’t get the chance to spend Valentine’s day with my boyfriend this year because of work. boo. But hey there’s always the weekend and Valentine’s shouldn’t only be celebrated every 14th of Feb. <3

Anyhow (favorite word to use to change the topic), I wore red just for the heck of it, then added studs and skulls so that I could look the part when we went to Saguijo during the night. It was my first time there and I was super tingkad (Bright) but I don’t really care. i still had lots of fun and I don’t think people really mind. But I was told that I’m like a sticky note reminding them that it was Valentine’s day. Is that good or bad?
